Bonfires currently respawn enemies. Thus, once you reach the Firelink Shrine, use the bonfire. Then, teleport back to the first area and all the enemies will have respawned. You can kill them again with minimal difficulty and work your way back to Firelink Shrine. Repeat this as many times as desired. This can be done with any bonfire to respawn enemies. To get more HP and survive longer, ember yourself while doing this. After you ember yourself, use a dried finger. This increases the amount of souls you gain for a limited time, but you have to be embered for this to take effect. Additionally, equip the Covetous Silver Serpent Ring to get even more souls between rests at the bonfire. Note: This exploit was performed on patch 1.04 of the game. It will eventually get patched. To avoid not being able to use this exploit, either do not install new patches before using this exploit or delete the patches. You can avoid patches being installed by disconnecting from the internet until you are ready for the game to install new patches.

Infinite experienceInfinite souls
This exploit can be used with any of the Boss Souls you acquire after defeating a Boss. It can be very difficult to do at first, but once you get the timing down it becomes much easier. First, clear the tool belt of any items. Next, add an empty estus flask to your tool belt slot. Equip a shield that lets you parry (for example, the Knight's starting shield). Then, add a Boss Soul to one of your quick item slots. Make sure there are no other items in your quick item slots. Finally, while holding D-pad Down the entire time, perform a parry (L2), then during the parry (when the shield is parallel to your character's shoulder -- just one frame before he starts to drop it down), very quickly press Square, Options, X. Another method is while holding D-pad Down the entire time, press L2, then quickly press Square(3), Options, X. If done correctly, the equipment box will appear for a split-second and you will get a prompt to use the soul and the HUD (that displays the quick item slots with the Boss Soul in it) in the bottom left corner will have disappeared. If you do not see the equipment box briefly appear and the HUD is still visible, select 'No' when prompted to use the soul. Otherwise, you will use the soul and not retain it. If the equipment box did appear briefly during the button sequence and the HUD has disappeared, select 'Yes' to use it and get a lot of souls and still have the Boss Soul equipped. Repeat this process as many times as desired. Note: It is recommended to create a cloud or USB backup of your saved game before attempting this exploit. Thus, if you make a mistake you can restore your saved game from the cloud or USB and try again. Additionally, this glitch was performed on patch 1.03 of the game. It may get patched. To avoid not being able to use this exploit, either do not install new patches before using this exploit or delete the patches. You can avoid patches being installed by disconnecting from the internet until you are ready for the game to install new patches.
Transposition
You can use transposition on Boss Souls to transform them into weapons, magic, and other items. They can also be converted into a large number of souls. Transposition is done through Ludleth of Courland at Firelink Shrine. You will first need the indicated Boss Soul and the Transposing Kiln, which is obtained from Curse-Rotted Greatwood. Perform transposition on the indicated Boss Soul to get one of the corresponding rewards:
Successfully complete the indicated task to unlock the corresponding gesture:
Successfully complete the indicated task to view the corresponding ending. Note: Make a backup of your saved game after defeating the final Boss so you can copy back your old saved game and get the other endings in the same playthrough.
To Link The First Flame: Simply interact with the bonfire after defeating the final Boss. This is the standard ending and the easiest one to get.
The End Of Fire: You must find the hidden eyes in the Untended Graves area to get this ending, which is the dark version of the starting area. Use the 'Finding Untended Graves secret area' hint to find out how to reach that area. Once you reach that area, go to the shrine and hit the illusion wall downstairs to reveal the eyes. Collect them and travel back to the real Firelink Shrine. Give the eyes to the fire keeper. Then, kill the final Boss (Soul of Cinder). You can then either light the bonfire or summon the fire keeper. To get this ending, you must summon the fire keeper (do not interact with the bonfire). She will only be available when you have given the eyes to her.
The Usurpation Of Fire: This ending is easily missable and by far the most complicated one to get. You must complete a long quest line to get it. The most important factor is to never cure your hollowing while trying to get this ending. This means do not heal your dark sigil, do not give a firekeeper soul to the firekeeper, and do not use purging stones. Hollowing is what makes your character look like a zombie. You are allowed to restore ember. Successfully complete all of the following steps as soon as possible. Do not do anything unnecessary in-between and do not progress the story any further than you have to or you could mess things up. If anything goes wrong, you can also speedrun the story within 2-3 hours in New Game+.
To reach the Archdragon Peak secret area, you must defeat 'Oceiros, the Consumed King' Boss. This is relatively late in the game. Oceiros is Boss 13 of 18. Open the door in the room where the Boss fight took place. It will lead you to the 'Old Dragon' gesture that you must collect. This gesture is very important for the next step. Travel to the Irithyll dungeon. Progress through the dungeon until you reach a lookout with a dragon statue (there is also an elevator nearby). Use the Old Dragon gesture at this spot to trigger a cutscene and reach the hidden Archdragon Peak area. Go up the hill a little bit to get the 'Archdragon Peak' trophy.
Finding Untended Graves secret area
To reach the Untended Graves secret area, you must defeat 'Oceiros, the Consumed King' Boss. This is relatively late in the game. Oceiros is Boss 13 of 18. There is also a bonfire in the Boss room which you can use to fast travel. Open the door where the Oceiros Boss fight took place and follow the path into the next room. There is a secret wall behind a chest (end of the room). Hit the wall to make it disappear. You can then drop down into the Untended Graves area and will get the 'Untended Graves' trophy.
Resetting skill points and changing appearance
You can reset skill points in the 'Cathedral Of The Deep' area, which is the area where you fight the Deacons of the Deep Boss. The nearest bonfire is called 'Cleansing Chapel'. Take the elevator up to the Cathedral's rooftop, and climb up the ladder to the very top. You then need to drop down to a small balcony in the Cathedral's main hall and again from the balcony to an area below. The path leads to a room with a hidden bonfire and a worm-like being named Rosaria. Talk to Rosaria, and she will let you join her covenant (Rosaria's Fingers). You can then talk to her to respec skill points and change your character's appearance. Note: You only have a total of five resets -- so make sure to use them wisely.
'Ashes Of Ariandel' DLC location
To reach the entrance to the 'Ashes Of Ariandel' DLC, go to the Cathedral Of The Deep. Warp to the 'Cleansing Church' bonfire if you have it available. There will be a man near the altar bowing. Talk to him and he will tell you a few things. Keep talking to him to trigger a cutscene where you character touches a painting. When the cutscene ends, you will be in the new Painted World of Ariandel. Note: This DLC is targeted for players that are around Level 60-70. It will be very difficult if your level is significantly lower than that.
Covenant locations
Go to the indicated location to join the corresponding covenant:
Way Of Blue: This is the first covenant you can join. It is found in the 'High Wall Of Lothric' area. Go down to the large courtyard of the area where you fight Vordt of the Boreal Valley. There is a big church with a woman sitting on a chair inside. Talk to the woman a few times. She will first gives you a banner and then the covenant.
Mound-makers: This covenant is missable. If you have missed it, you can do it in New Game+. Do it as soon as you reach the Undead Settlement, before defeating the Curse-rotted Greatwood Boss. Once you have defeated the Greatwood Boss, it will no longer work. From the 'Undead Settlement' bonfire, go through the dark building and then across the bridge on the right. Follow the narrow path around the hill and climb the rooftops where archers are shooting at you. You can then drop to an area with a big guy who has a cage on his back. Enter the cage (do not attack him) to trigger a cutscene. You will then be brought to the area where you would later fight the Curse-rotted Greatwood Boss. Talk to the man near the shrine and he will let you join the covenant. Note: After you have defeated the Greatwood Boss, there is still a way to join the convenant. Sometimes there will be a summoning sign on the ground where the Boss fight took place (on the upper floor where the ground breaks during the fight). Activating it will teleport you to the area below, where you have to defeat a mini-Boss to join the covenant. However, the summoning sign is not always there and becomes unavailable for unknown reasons. Thus, it is recommended to do it in New Game+ if you have missed it and the summoning sign does not appear.
Warrior Of Sunlight: This is the third covenant you can join. From the 'Undead Settlement' bonfire, proceed through the dark building and keep going straight. There are some houses down the hill. In one dark house there is a hole in the floor. Drop down the hole and collect the covenant from the table.
Blue Sentinels: This is the fourth covenant you can join. It is very easy to find. After defeating the Curse-rotted Greatwood Boss, you will reach the 'Road Of Sacrifices' area. At the 'Halfway Fortress' bonfire, you will meet two people. Talk to them to join the covenant.
Watchdogs Of Farron: This covenant is missable. Sometime after killing the Lords of Cinder: Abyss Watchers Boss, it will not be available any longer. Make sure to get this covenant immediately when entering the swamp area. If you miss it, you can still get it in New Game+. The covenant is located in the 'Road Of Sacrifices' area, near the 'Keep Ruins' bonfire (poison swamp area). Walk around the ruins until you find a ladder. Go up the ladder to see a sleeping wolf. Pray to the wolf to join the covenant. If you cannot pray to the wolf, it is because he has been killed by an NPC. After defeating the Abyss Watchers, an NPC will come at some point during the game to slay the Wolf (the exact time seems to vary, but it can happen after the Boreal Valley Dancer).
Rosaria's Fingers: This is the sixth covenant you can join. It is found in the 'Cathedral Of The Deep' area, near the 'Cleansing Chapel' bonfire. After defeating the Deacons of the Deep Boss, take the elevator up to the Cathedral's rooftop, and climb up the ladder to the very top. You then need to drop down to a small balcony in the Cathedral's main hall and again from the balcony to an area below. The path leads to a room with a hidden bonfire and a worm-like being named Rosaria. Talk to Rosaria, and she will let you join her covenant (Rosaria's Fingers). She also allows you to reset your skill points and character appearance up to five times.
Aldritch Faithful: This is the seventh covenant you can join. It is found in the 'Irithyll Of The Boreal Valley' area, near the 'Pontiff Sulyvahn' bonfire. After defeating the Pontiff Sulyvahn Boss, go outside and proceed through the courtyard with the dead giants on the floor. Go up the stairs to the tower entrance. There is an illusion wall on the left side of the tower (do not go up the stairs yet). Hit the wall to reveal a ladder that leads down to a flooded area with two large dogs. There is a puppet sitting in the corner. Pray to the puppet to join the covenant.
Blade Of The Darkmoon: This is the eighth and final covenant you can join. By this point in the game you should already be part of all the other covenants. Blade Of The Darkmoon is found in the 'Irithyll Of The Boreal Valley' area, near the 'Anor Londo' bonfire. From this bonfire, go back down the stairs of the tower. After going downstairs, watch out for a bonfire on a nearby tower. There is an invisible bridge you can walk across. Even if it looks like you are going to fall down, you will not. Just walk over the edge to walk in the air. Drop down to the tower with the hidden bonfire. There is a lady in a white dress in this area. Talk to her. If you have the bowing gesture from Yuria's quest line, she will let you join the covenant. If not, simply kill her and pick up the covenant item from her dead body.
Go to the indicated location to encounter the listed NPC invaders and get the corresponding drop when they are defeated:
Holy Knight Hodrick
Yellow Finger Heysel
Longfinger Kirk
Alva, Seeker of the Spurned
Dark Spirit of Londor
Daughter of Crystal Kriemhild
Creighton the Wanderer
Knight Slayer Tsorig
Get close to the nest above Firelink Shrine to talk to Snuggly the Crow. He will trade items for specific things that are dropped in her nest with the 'Leave' item option in your inventory. Note: You can only do one trade per playthrough, but this resets with each New Game+. Additionally, make sure not to exit the game with an item still resting on the ground before the trade has been completed or you will lose it.
Search the indicated locations to find all 11 Estus Flask Upgrade Shards. Collect all of them to get the 'Ultimate Estus' trophy. Give them to the blacksmith in the Firelink Shrine to increase the number of flasks you can carry. You begin with 3 estus and 1 ashen flask. Combined with the 11 Estus Shards, you can carry a total of 15 flasks. Since these are your health/mana potions, it is recommended to collect all of them as soon as possible. It will help you survive longer and makes things in general easier. This video shows the locations in the order in which you can obtain them. You can still collect all of them after defeating the final Boss. You can view how many you have collected by looking in your inventory. You can turn Ashen Flasks into Estus Flasks and vice versa at the blacksmith. Note: You also must collect the ten Undead Bone Shards to increase the amount of HP/FP restored with each flask use.
Search the indicated locations to find all ten Undead Bone Shards. Collect all of them to upgrade your Estus Flask and get the 'Ultimate Bonfire' trophy (reinforce a bonfire to the highest level). After finding a Bone Shard, you can burn it in the bonfire of the Firelink Shrine (the hub area where you level up). This will increase the bonfire's intensity and improve your Estus Flask so that it heals more HP with each use. You will get the trophy after burning all ten shards. Note: It is recommended to collect all of these upgrades as soon as possible. They greatly help in completing the game and make things easier in general. This video shows the locations in the order in which you can obtain them. You can still collect all of them after defeating the final Boss. They also respawn in New Game+. To see how many you have collected, check the number below your Estus Flask or view the bonfire intensity in the Firelink Shrine.

Iudex Gundyr is the first Boss in the game. He is part of the tutorial section and quite easy to defeat. To start the fight, you must pull a spike out of his chest. Attack him immediately to take away a good chunk of health before he gets up. Approximately halfway through the fight, he will transform and get more aggressive. He is defenseless while transforming. His attacks can be parried with a shield, or simply dodge and try to get behind him. If you play as a sorcerer or pyromancer, keep your distance. You can also use your three estus flasks to refill health. You will get an trophy for defeating each of the 18 Bosses.
Defeating Soul of Cinder
Soul of Cinder is the final story Boss. After defeating him, you can interact with the last bonfire (same place where you fight him) to trigger the game ending and start New Game+. He uses a variety of attacks and weapons that he is always switching around. A recommended strategy is to take Havel's Greatshield (any greatshield will do) and walk close to him in circles while blocking all attacks. After blocking his combo, attack him 1-2 times and block again. After a few hits, he will get stunned and you can take down a good chunk of his health. Just keep it slow and block, do one hit and repeat. In between his attacks, you should release [Block] so your stamina recovers quicker. When he uses magic, you can get up close to him and just attack. After his first health bar is gone, he gets more aggressive. His available attacks change slightly. He uses longer combos and throws lightning spears at you. When he uses lightning he is vulnerable -- that is when you should attack even if he hits you a few times. Roll away from him when he does the 5-hit sword combo with the big fire explosion. Everything else you can block with the shield. You just have to learn how to balance your stamina for this fight so you have enough to block, but also enough to get one hit in. Keep your equipment load below 70% to speed up stamina recovery. You should definitely put a few points in stamina before this fight.

I realized that a lot of PC players aren't enjoying mods yet. Mostly because they don't know how. So I made a little guide!
Most of them say: Nah mods are not for me, I like the vanilla game. Well. Me too! I don't like new textures for gear and I don't want the smelter demon to look like a smurf. However HD textures, Rain storms, Blood on hits, A better lighting system, an ENB (to make the game darker so torches are needed) A see trough UI and ps3 control buttons in the menus instead of xbox controls are things that I personaly love.
Here is how you can mod your game. It is pretty easy and fast.
Go to http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls2/?
Register. I found this a bit tricky, since it looked like you need to pay. Everything is completely FREE though. Go to create an account > Register > Ignore all the payment options, just press create account at the bottom.)
Now that you have an account and are logged in press: ' Install NMM (0.52.1)' all the way on the top op the page. (You can choose to install mods manually but this is a free program that does it for you)
When the program is downloaded, Run it and let it search for your dark souls 2 install directory (you can just unmark the rest) and when he found it, press the green mark. Somewhere here it will ask for the installation path of GeDoSaTo so lets do that first.
GeDoSaTo is a great program that already ups your graphics and even makes it easier for some computers to run the game. Double win!
Now download GeDoSaTo from here: Direct link: http://gedosato.metaclassofnil.com/GeDoSaToUpdater.exe Source page for people that met patches to much: http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?page_id=582
You always have to run gedosato before you launch darksouls or your mods won't work, so make a shortcut or whatever. (You can install this anywhere. I recommend placing it inside your darksouls 2 folder but it might as well be on your desktop if you like having your desktop as messy as your actual room.
Start gedosato and click edit settings. Don't be overwelmed. You can close this very soon. If you know what you are doing you can get a nice graphics boost from editing these settings to your preference but for now just scroll all the way down to Texture settings. and change this line:
'enableTextureOverride false' To: 'enableTextureOverride true'
Almost every mod needs this so just do it even if you don't want to get the shield skin with gabes face on it.
Now back on the nexus site: Go to Files > Top files (for the highest rated mods)
Check what mods are interesting for you. and if you want a mod then above the mod there is a toolbar that says: DESC, FILES, IMAGES, ect. Click FILES.
If you downloaded NMM (0.52.1) you can press download with manager. This will automaticly install the mod for you. Or you can do it manually following the installation guide on the mod page.
Once it is downloaded the mod will be in nexus mod manager and you can select it and press activate. Now the mod is activated!
Lots of mods require one more step, because you can tinker them to your personal wishes (like with the bloodygore mod you can go for the small amount of blood or the blood fetish version) In this case you go to your GeDoSaTo install directory (Something like C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonDark Souls IIGeDoSaTo or wherever you installed it) and go to: Textures > DarkSoulsII > override.
Here you will see a bunch of files from mods that will be used to override old textures. But you might see a few folders. If you see a folder this means you have to pick some stuff. for example:
In my override folder there is the folder BloodyGoresouls. I open this folder. Here I can pick the default set or I can pick a set that has more blood then the default one. I love blood so I want the maximum. I follow the guide on the nexus website so I first open the core folder, pick the lvl3 version (the most blood) so that is .dds3 I copy that file and place it in back in the override folder and remove the 3 behind the .dds. I do the same for the particle and splash. This might seem horribly complicated, It is not. Just think for a second and read the mod pages. Basicly you are just dragging textures (the .dds files) to a folder out of which all textures will be used in the game.
And thats it. Run the game while your GeDoSaTo is running and it should work. If there are any questions, I or other redditors might help. I might be to addicted to my epic looking game to care though.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock lizard for the past several months, you’ll know the wonderfully twisted and challenging action role-player Dark Souls returned to our PC telly boxes earlier this year. With series director Hidetaka Miyazaki reinstated at the (knight) helm, the third installment isn’t necessarily the best but is probably the most realised, and like its forerunners – and console cousins Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne – it’ll swallow you whole if you don’t know how to handle it. And even when/if you do it rarely shows mercy.
Out next week, Ashes of the Ariandel marks Dark Souls 3 [official site]’s first of two proposed DLCs before the series is laid to rest, which seems like a good time to explore the mods which might, just might, make reading the words YOU DIED over and over and over again that little bit easier to stomach. If not, they should at least help you have fun doing so. Git gud or die trying.
How to install Dark Souls 3 mods
Like many of other games we’ve covered here before, Dark Souls 3 doesn’t have Steam Workshop support – thus its mods are housed within the game’s corner of Nexus Mods. These can be installed manually – details of which are almost always noted on each respective mod’s page – or via the Nexus Mod Manager. Personally, I prefer the latter as it not only keeps things tidy, but also handles updates automatically. This is purely personal preference, though, so please do whatever you’re most comfortable with.
NB – It’s also worth nothing some of the mods featured here are best suited to offline play, due to the fact they may offer an unfair advantage online. To avoid being soft banned, do check for disclaimers/warnings on each mod’s page prior to installation.
Infinite Possibilities
By mouthmilk
If you’re reading this list, I assume you’ve played at least one Dark Souls game before now. Which means, on the off-chance you didn’t believe my habitual expiration-related predication above, you’re well aware just how much death Dark Souls involves. As such, success requires perseverance in spades, and new areas and seemingly impossible bosses often demand long spells of grind, determination and luck.
Unless you can’t be arsed with all that. And that’s where mouthmilk’s Infinite Possibilities comes in, by offering players three unique characters already tooled up, kitted out and ready to rumble. Each set has bespoke weaponry, magic and armour ensembles and is dropped into Lothric at specific times in the game when specific events have occurred and enemies felled.
The Ashen One profile, for example, boasts all weapons besides boss weapons; all boss souls; all armor sets; all pyromancies besides boss pyromancies; all spells besides boss spells; all miracles besides boss miracles; all bonfires unlocked; and a wad of gems and upgrade items. If you’re pressed for time or perhaps find NG+ too much of a challenge/headache, this mod’s the one for you.
Poise
By unknown
Ah, poise in Dark Souls 3 – such a small change that’s caused such a big rammy. To be honest, the poise statistic isn’t something that bothers me all that much, but I do understand why it’s caused such a furore – especially if PvP is your thing.
To recap: in past games, poise values were tied to both armour and shields and offset the chances of players being staggered. In Dark Souls 3, however, poise is, in essence, an invisible stat that has very little effect – even if you’re kitted out in the most powerful clobber. Upon the game’s release, some players thought the adjustments were the result of a bug, until From Software confirmed otherwise, and while poise is set to become “more effective for heavier weapons and armor” in the incoming DLC, some folks just like it the way it was.
Like the intuitive person that created the Dark Souls 3 Poise mod, which, as you’ve probably guessed by now, reintroduces the poise stat as it were in the series’ prior games.
“A small cheat engine script to turn on the classic Poise system,” reads a disclaimer on the mod’s page. “Using it offline is recommended. Don’t use it while online or you may get softbanned.” Judging how passionately certain facets of the playerbase feel about poise, I bet that’s a risk some people are will to take.
First Person Cam
By Zullie the Witch
HEATHEN! cries the bloodthirsty third-person action role-playing faithful. BUT LISTEN, I reply, DARK SOULS LOOKS REALLY, REALLY, REALLY GOOD IN FIRST-PERSON VIEW.
Cod mw remastered compressed 500mb movie. 4.5 GB DOWNLOAD PROTOTYPE 2 PC HIGHLY COMPRESSED:Prototype 2 download free PC games in parts by parts with the link, which is given below for windows. This is an amazing action, adventure game.
Which, if you’ve spied the image above, is a statement I’m sure you totally agree with. Replicating the first-person perspective otherwise facilitated by bows, crossbows and binoculars, Zullie the Witch’s First Person Cam transforms Dark Souls 3 into a wonderfully different game entirely. Minus a wider overview, it makes the game increasingly difficult and while I’ve seen the odd commentator compare this mod’s visual overhaul to the likes of Skyrim, I think that’s doing it a disservice. The next Elder Scrolls really would do well to recreate what’s on show here.
Customisation options include being able to tinker with:
– Left/Right Offset
– Up/Down Offset – Cam Center Location Offset – Cam Lens Distance Offset – Rotation Angle Min/Max – Rotation Speed X/Y – Field of View
And here it is in practice:
It should be noted that as a cheat engine script, this mod is best used offline.
Aggression Mod
By Zullie the Witch
Another from Zullie which ups the ante, and then some. Remember your first trip to Anor Londo in the original Dark Souls? Remember those bastard Greatbow Archer Knights with the incomprehensible aggro detection ranges that, assuming you arrived without the Ring of Fog, would fire at will from a stupendous distance causing you to launch your control pad against the wall more times that you care to admit? I know I’m not alone here. Well that’s pretty much what to expect from the Aggression mod.
“The Aggression Mod is a Cheat Engine script that increases the distance from which enemies become aware of the player, the range from which they will run to attack the player, and how far from their spawn point they will go when chasing the player,” is how Zullie puts it with decidedly less contempt than I.
On top of that, the mod has a neat special effect modifier that, by default, gives enemies glowing red eyes. You can of course choose to disable it if you like, but it’s pretty cool and served as a handy beacon-cum-target for me to expend my displaced Anor Londo archer rage upon. A second modifier can be applied which simulates the Obscuring Ring – where enemies only become visible within melee range. Good luck with that.
Save Game Backup Tool
By svaalbard
Okay, so perhaps that last one pushed you a little too hard and you’d like to roll things back a little. I get it – Dark Souls can be brutal, my recently deceased hand-to-wall control pads are testament to that very fact. So what if we added an undo button of sorts? Something that rewound every bout of misadventure or autosaved your progress lending less significance to trivial mishaps between bonfires.
Save Game Backup Tool is “a program that creates backups of save games of Dark Souls 3 every 15 minutes (can be customized between 1 minute to 59 minutes using the Time Interval setting),” explains mod creator svaalbard. Better still, there’s no limit to how many saved are backed up, although you’ll want to manually delete your old ‘uns as you go to free up space for new ones.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but having spent an hour or so with this mod, it’s perhaps makes things a little too easy. Think of this as the complete polar opposite of Zullie’s aforementioned Aggression Mod, though, which makes actually lets you more freely explore DS3’s world without worry of being savagely slaughtered along the way.
Incandescent Reshade, 50 Cell-Shades of Dark Souls and iGP11
By Obanon, Axcalay and S17L respectively
Dark Souls 3 is easily the best looking game of the series (and gives Bloodborne a run for its money), however when there are mods, there will always be reshaders and other such ways to tinker with a game’s aesthetic. Incandescent Reshade is probably the best available for DS3, as it removes some of the grey and washed out colours from the original game. It doesn’t saturate or add any unnecessary effects, though, which means torchlight, candles and reflections appear more vibrant and emit more light; while tombs, shadows and areas set after dark appear, well, darker. Choose between the mod’s Incandescent and Lite variations as you desire.
50 Cell-Shades of Dark Souls errs in the opposite direction by transforming Lothric into a Dragon Quest-inspired world of vivid watercolours. Similar to First Person Cam above, this mod makes Dark Souls 3 feel like an entirely different game – one which really must be experienced to understand its potential.
Lastly, iGP11 lets you “dump and replace textures used by the game”. Which has led to some modders to replace the game’s textures with faces of Nic Cage, Shrek and, um, crabs. Observe:
Weird.
Restored Lothric Kinght Armour, Por Artorias Shield and Dragonslayer Greatsword
By mauskal, Niarlatoteph/LAGM4N and EvilDeadAsh34 respectively
Some more eye candy to round things up. While there are plenty of DS3 mods out there that tweak, improve or shoe horn players’ favourite weapons into the game – Restored Lothric Armour, Por Artorias Shield and Dragonslayer Greatsword are my favourites.
From front to back, the Dragonslayer is a retexture of the game’s titular sword that enables it to look like Guts’ variation from the Berserk series. It comes in four different styles – “Bumpy Black Center Blade, Flat Black Center Blade, Bumpy Black Center Blade with Flat Hilt/Guard,
Flat Black Center Blade with Flat Hilt/Guard” – each of which is as cool as the last.
The Por Artorias Shield comes to Dark Souls 3 courtesy of Niarlatoteph who’s borrowed textures from LAGM4N’s work in the original Dark Souls. With permission, this has brought one of the coolest-looking shields in the series to Lothric and I for one am very pleased with that.
Restored Lothric Knight Armour is as superficial as they come, but is lovely nevertheless. Due its well-worn appearance in Dark Souls 3, this mod cleans, polishes and removes rust from the esteemed Lothric Knight Armour, making it instantly more presentable. The mod even replaces the cape for dazzling undead decimating results.

DS 3 Items Checklist
By Braduzz619
So simple yet so welcomed. “I was struggling to keep track of all the items I found in Dark Soul 3,” says creator Braduzz619. “So I had a quick search for a checklist online, but found nothing that was helpful so I decided to make my own list in excel.” Thanks mate!
So, do you reckon these mods will help you git gud? Either way, I bet you die an awful lot trying. If we’ve missed any of your favourites, please do list them in the comments below. If I’ve not then, well, Praise the Sun! (Come on, we couldn’t get to the end of a Dark Souls list without this and you know it.)
Dark Souls 3 is out now on Steam and The Humble Store.
