In this post, we will take a look at the Windows Startup Settings, or Advanced Startup options Windows 10 and also see how to change Boot defaults when you are dual-booting your computer.
When you dual-boot Windows 10 with an earlier version of Windows like Windows 8.1 or Windows, before you log in, you will see the following screen offering you the available operating systems. You can choose the operating system you wish to boot in, or by default, you will be booted you into default operating system after 10 seconds.
If you wish to change some of your default boot and login options and settings, you may click on the Change defaults or choose other options link, which you will see towards the bottom.
If you have only one OS installed, you may start your computer and then keep pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. You will see the Advanced Options screen.
Change Windows 10 Boot default settings
Once you do this, you will see the following Options screen. Here you can change the Timer settings, set the default operating system to boot into and set other options too.
Clicking on Change the timer will bring you to the following screen, where you can set the boot timer to 5 seconds, 30 seconds or 5 minutes. This is the time you have to wait before the default OS is automatically loaded. The default setting here is 10 seconds.
Clicking on Choose a default operating system will let you set the operating system you want to automatically load, after waiting for the set amount of time. The setting in my case is Windows 10.
Clicking on Choose an option will present you with the following options.

If you need to troubleshoot problems with your Windows computer, you can click on Troubleshoot. When you do this, you are offered:
If you wish to reset your PC, select Reset the PC option. If you need to access other troubleshooting and repair tools, click on Advanced Options, to arrive at the following screen.
Here you will see:
If you wish to directly access these Advanced startup options when working on your Windows 10, you can do so via the Settings app of Windows 10 > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced startup and click the Restart now button.
Clicking on Startup Settings will let you change the preset startup settings and options.
Here you can:
Windows 10 users may want to especially note that this is where you can enable Safe Mode.
Clicking on the Restart button will bring you to the following Startup Settings screen:
You have to press the keys to bring up the options. Clicking on F10 will show you some more options including Launch recovery environment.
Pressing Enter will bring you back to your operating system.
These settings are useful to know as, not only can you change your boot defaults here, but they can also be very useful to you if your computer will not start or you need to troubleshoot and fix other Windows problems.

I know that Intel have this ITK (Integrator Tool Kit) thing that lets you configure more than you can see in the regular BIOS menu.Try to see who's the manufacturer of your Motherboard through the BIOS, and then search for their software.

That screen is displayed by the motherboard BIOS, it is probably not something you can change.
I would press Del and see what options (if any) are available.
According to some random stuff I tripped over whilst wandering the Intertubes:
Gigabyte Mainboard includes the standard funtion of replacing the Fullscreen-Bootlogo with a custom picture by using the 'Face Wizard' software included on the driver disc.
Maybe your mobo has this feature.

When I start my pc, the first screen I see, has a small resolution,
Yes, this is normal. Most IBM compatibles desktop PC'seither boot in text mode our use a low resolution graphics mode which just about every monitor from the last few decades can handle. This is good.
but by the time I get to the login screen, the resolution is good.
Your operating system will load drivers for various devices, including drives for your graphics card. That enables more than just the low resolution modes. Typically it will also remember your settings from the last time and use those. This is why it changes resolution once the OS is active, but not before it is loaded.
Given these two points I am convinced that your resulution never was any different in the past. However that does not mean that the image on the screen is not different.
A low resulution image on a higer resolution display can be treated in several ways, e.g.
The last can be done both by the graphics can or via the electronics in your monitor. I suspect that you changed something here. Check these settings.

There may be times when booting into Windows via Boot Camp may not display the desired screen resolution. In some instances this might happen after attempting to customize the hardware or driver setups in windows, but in other instances may happen from the first time that Boot Camp is used.
Apple discussion poster 'Wiktor Kidziak1' writes:
'I have installed Vista Home Premium under boot camp (OS X 10.5.7) but in preferences I can only get the maximum of 1280x960 while my screen resolution on SyncMaster P2250 in OS X is 1920x1080. (I am using new Mac mini with NVIDIA GeForce 9400).
I have inserted Leopard disc in Vista and installed boot camp but still I can't make the resolution higher.'
This problem generally happens because you have the improper drivers installed for Boot Camp, and need to reinstall them from the disks that came with your system. The following procedure will do this:
If you have multiple OS installation disks, be sure to use the drivers on the disks that is the most recent release of OS X. In some instances this might be the grey CD that came with your computer, but could also be a Leopard installation DVD so be sure to check the version on the disk. To ensure compatibility, however, the grey disks that came with your computer will work best.
If you need to update your Windows graphics drivers, use Apple's software update to ensure you have drivers that are most compatible with Boot Camp. There are, however, times where you may wish to have the latest drivers for your graphics hardware and the ones that come with Boot Camp are missing required features or otherwise will not work. In this case the latest drivers for your specific hardware can be found at Nvidia or ATI/AMD's driver websites:
Nvidia drivers page: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
ATI drivers page: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx (Has a 'Boot Camp' section).
In addition to the official drivers on those sites, you can find the latest, unreleased, and modified drivers for Nvidia hardware at this website: http://laptopvideo2go.com/drivers
The drivers on the laptopvideo2go website may be buggy so do be cautioned that they are pre-release drivers and might not function correctly.
You cannot harm your system by installing improper drivers. At the very most the system will have problems like stuck resolutions, so if after any driver update you are having problems with your system then you can always revert the drivers to those on the Leopard installation DVD.

This is a common issue many Windows users report – ‘Every time I start up or log out of my Windows computer, it automatically switches the screen resolution to a different from the default one’. The problem may occur if you have enabled Advanced Performance in the Device Manager, and now even after disabling it, the problem may persist. If this problem is by any installed software, the software should be removed to see if it helps resolve the issue.
In Windows 10/8, you typically set the screen resolution via the Control Panel, as shown below in this image.
Screen Resolution changes on its own automatically
In Windows 7, you were forced to reboot to apply all the changes to the display screen resolution. In Windows 10/8.1/8, you are not forced to reboot your Windows PC. But if you don’t, the display changes may not be applied to all items on the screen, like for instance the Start Screen. So if you are facing issues after changing the screen resolution, reboot your Windows computer and see if it makes the problem go away.
If you find that your screen resolution keeps changing automatically on its own, after sleep or after reboot, here are a few suggestions you can try: Dishonored 2 game download for pc windows 10.
1] Ensure that your Drivers are up-to-date. Specifically, update your Graphics Card drivers. If need be, uninstall them and fresh-install their latest downloaded version. Just because you’ve upgraded your operating system to Windows 10/8/7 doesn’t necessarily mean that you have the most up-to-date drivers on your computer. To ensure you have the most up-to-date driver, check the driver version number and compare that with information on the developer’s Web site.

2] Disable the screen saver and see if it helps.
3] Run msconfig. Then, on the Boot Tab, ensure that the BaseVideo option is un-checked. Restart.
4] Try changing the Power Settings, to allow for Sleep Mode, when sharing media. Then from an administrative command prompt, execute the following command:

5] Try the Windows Display Quality Troubleshooter.
Hope something helps.

Windows 10 allows you to change the login screen (sign-in screen) and lock screen background image to a custom picture. However, before this, there was no way to change the UEFI boot logo on Windows 10.
If your PC supports UEFI, you likely see OEM’s logo every time you turn on your Windows 10 PC. For instance, if you are using an HP laptop, you will see the HP logo during the boot.
Not everyone likes to see the same UEFI boot logo every time they turn on the PC. Unfortunately, up until now, there was no concrete solution to change the Windows 10 UEFI boot logo as the vendor’s or OEM’s logo is stored in the Boot Graphics Resource Monitor (BGRT) section of UEFI firmware.
HackBGRT: Tool to change Windows 10 UEFI boot logo
HackBGRT is a free utility designed to enable PC users to change Windows 10 UEFI boot logo without must hassle. The HackBGRT makes it possible to change the Windows 10 UEFI boot logo in a few clicks.

As said earlier, the UEFI boot logo is stored in the UEFI firmware which is very hard to change permanently. HackBGRT overwrites this image during each boot to display your custom Windows 10 boot logo.
It’s important to note that HackBGRT must be run computers that support UEFI (check if your PC supports UEFI) and use it only if you are booting with UEFI enabled. The developer of the tool also recommends disabling the Secure Boot.
The image that you want to use as UEFI boot logo must be a 24-bit BMP file with a 54-byte header. If you specify multiple images, you will see random boot logos.
Your Windows 10 PC might become unbootable if anything goes wrong while changing the boot logo. So, try this only if you know what you are doing. Before running the tool, we recommend you create a system restore point or create a full image backup of your Windows 10 installation just to be safe.
Visit the link mentioned below to download the latest version of HackBGRT tool for Windows 10. Note that it’s fully compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10 systems.
